Safety Awareness for Personnel Hoisting Equipment on Mobile Cranes

To strengthen workplace accident prevention, the competent authority, the Ministry of Labor, amended and promulgated the Regulations Governing Safety Inspection of Dangerous Machinery and Equipment on December 23, 2025 (ROC Year 114). Under the amended regulations, mobile cranes equipped with personnel hoisting equipment for carrying or lifting persons and with a lifting capacity of less than three metric tons (hereinafter referred to as “mobile cranes for personnel lifting under three metric tons”) must undergo and pass the required inspection before they may be used.

This requirement will officially take effect on December 23, 2026 (ROC Year 115). To assist industries in preparing for the implementation of the new requirements and to enhance workplace safety technology, the Center has included mobile cranes for personnel lifting under three metric tons as a target for safety guidance, strengthened safety management mechanisms, and produced this safety awareness brochure for widespread dissemination.
