In July, the Central Occupational Accident Technical Service Department (hereinafter referred to as “the Department”) organized a diverse range of training programs tailored to different groups. The programs aimed to strengthen occupational accident prevention awareness and knowledge among local workers with specific employment circumstances, enhance the professional competencies of occupational safety and health personnel, improve service quality at occupational rehabilitation institutions, establish regional professional collaboration networks, and increase awareness among relevant organizations and personnel of the latest amendments to the Occupational Safety and Health Act. During the month, the Department organized one “Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Program for Middle-Aged and Older Workers,” one “Occupational Safety and Health Training Program for Sanitation Workers,” one “Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Program for Workers Without a Fixed Employer,” three “Professional Development Training Programs for Occupational Safety and Health Personnel,” one “Occupational Rehabilitation Technical Workshop,” and three “Information Sessions on the Amended Occupational Safety and Health Regulations.” The training programs were held across five cities and counties: Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, and Yunlin. Through diversified education, training, and professional exchange, the Department continues to promote occupational safety and health knowledge, while strengthening occupational safety and health service capacity throughout central Taiwan.

This month's Occupational Rehabilitation Technical Workshop focused on “Clinical Psychological Assessment of Chronic Pain.” Conducted in a small-group format, the one-day intensive program brought together clinical psychologists, counseling psychologists, and case managers from accredited occupational rehabilitation institutions and institutions providing physical and psychological work hardening programs for occupational rehabilitation. The workshop combined specialized instruction with case discussions. Associate Professor Chih-Hsun Wu of the Department of Psychology and Graduate Institute of Psychology at National Chengchi University was invited to lead the workshop. Beginning with pain mechanisms and psychosocial concepts, he provided an in-depth introduction to the theory and practice of clinical psychological assessment. Through discussion of actual cases, participants were guided in deepening their professional knowledge and ability to apply it in practice.

In response to recent amendments to occupational safety and health legislation, the Department organized three “Information Sessions on the Amended Occupational Safety and Health Regulations” during the month. The sessions explained key aspects of the amendments to enterprises and relevant workers, focusing on two major areas: “comprehensive occupational safety prevention” and the “legal institutionalization of workplace bullying prevention.” The sessions were led by seasoned labor inspectors with more than 10 years of practical experience. Through explanations of the amended regulations and practical experience sharing, the training helped participants understand the latest legislative changes and strengthen their knowledge of regulatory compliance and workplace safety and health management.
