To comprehensively enhance occupational safety, health, and wellness awareness in eastern Taiwan, the Southern Occupational Accident Technical Service Department adopted a two-pronged approach in Taitung on June 24, 2026, simultaneously reaching out to job seekers and frontline workers.

Fun with Monopoly! Bringing Workplace Health and Safety Awareness to a Recruitment Event

The Southern Occupational Accident Technical Service Department participated in a large-scale recruitment event organized by the Ministry of Labor’s Taitung Employment Center, engaging directly with job seekers. To dispel the perception that occupational safety and health regulations are difficult and inaccessible, the Department set up an interactive “Monopoly Trivia Fun” game suitable for participants of all ages. By rolling dice and answering questions as they progressed through the game, participants gained practical knowledge of workplace safety, occupational health, and health promotion in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. The lively interaction and laughter not only added to the enjoyment of the recruitment event, but also helped make occupational safety concepts more accessible and memorable for participants.

Protecting Workers Without a Fixed Employer! Building a Safety Net Through Outreach and Consultation

At the same time, another team from the Department joined forces with the Social Affairs Department of the Taitung County Government to hold an "Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Event for Workers Without a Fixed Employer" at the Taitung County Federation of Labor Unions. In addition to explanations of relevant regulations and occupational accident case studies designed to strengthen participants' knowledge of accident prevention and protection, on-site workplace health risk consultations were also provided. Professionals measured workers' blood pressure, helped them better understand their health status, and answered a range of health-related questions.
 

Through this dynamic, locally focused two-pronged outreach initiative, the Department brought occupational safety, health, and wellness awareness closer to workers across eastern Taiwan, helping build a stronger workplace safety net in Taitung. Together, we strive to ensure that every worker can "go to work happy and return home safe."
