The Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Act came into effect on May 1 last year, and it has been one year since then. The Ministry of Labor held a press conference on the “First Anniversary of the Enactment of Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Act and its Implementation by Juristic Persons”, inviting Ms. Chen Mei-Nu, Chief of the Department of Labor Insurance, Mr. Ho Jiune-Jye, CEO of the Center for Occupational Accident Prevention and Rehabilitation and Mr. Tsou Tzu-Lien, Director General of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to speak to the media on the effectiveness of the implementation of the Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Act in the first year. Among them, the establishment of the Center for Occupational Accident Prevention and Rehabilitation marked a new milestone for occupational accident prevention and rehabilitation services in Taiwan. Ho Jiune-Jye, CEO of the Center for Occupational Accident Prevention and Rehabilitation, said that in the year since its establishment, the Center has not only expanded its service capacities to workers suffering from occupational accidents, but also provided diagnosis and treatment of occupational injuries and diseases with more and more considerate services, significantly shortening the professional investigation and assessment time for occupational disease appraisal cases, and effectively reducing the waiting time for workers suffering from occupational accidents. The Center will continue to accompany workers suffering from occupational accidents and assist them in their returning to work healthily.
