To strengthen occupational accident prevention awareness and knowledge among local workers with specific employment circumstances, enhance service quality at occupational rehabilitation institutions, and establish regional professional collaboration networks, the Central Occupational Accident Technical Service Department (hereinafter referred to as “the Department”) organized two Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Programs for Middle-Aged and Older Workers, one Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Program for Agricultural and Fishery Workers, and one Occupational Accident Rehabilitation Service Case Conference in June 2026. Held across Hsinchu, Taichung, and Nantou, these programs promoted occupational safety and health knowledge through diverse training activities and professional exchange, while strengthening local service capacity.

For the Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Programs for Middle-Aged and Older Workers, the Department invited former Section Chief Meng-Lung Lin of the Central Occupational Safety and Health Center, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Ministry of Labor; Manager Jo-Ying Chang of the Occupational Injury and Disease Center at St. Martin De Porres Hospital; Secretary-General Chien-Hung Lin of the Miaoli Vocational Training Center affiliated with the Safety and Health Association of Taiwan; and occupational medicine specialist Dr. Han-Hsuan Yang of Profield Clinic to serve as instructors. The programs covered topics including workplace safety improvements for middle-aged and older workers, fall prevention, the Occupational Accident Insurance system, and related protection measures. The courses helped workers and enterprises respond to population aging and changes in workforce demographics, strengthen their workplace safety management capabilities, and work together to create safer, healthier, and more age-friendly work environments.

The Occupational Accident Rehabilitation Service Case Conference was held at the Hsinchu Branch of National Taiwan University Hospital (hereinafter referred to as “NTUH Hsinchu Branch”), an occupational rehabilitation institution accredited by the Ministry of Labor. Occupational therapists Pei-Ling Chen and Kuang-Ting Cheng of NTUH Hsinchu Branch presented cases involving services provided to workers affected by occupational accidents. Discussions addressed pain management following occupational accidents, psychological support, psychological work hardening, and return-to-work management. The conference also invited occupational medicine specialist Dr. Ping-Hui Chen, employed by a technology company; clinical psychologist Sen-Feng Hung of Chung Shan Medical University Hospital; occupational therapist Li-Kang Lai of the Department of Orthopedics at Show Chwan Memorial Hospital; and physical therapist Chien-Fen Lin, employed by a technology company, to serve as expert case discussants. Drawing on their respective disciplines, the experts provided practical recommendations and interdisciplinary perspectives on the cases presented. Through discussion and experience sharing, the conference promoted interdisciplinary collaboration, deepened participants’ professional knowledge of occupational accident rehabilitation services, and contributed to improving the quality of return-to-work services for workers affected by occupational accidents.
