Health Report on Occupational Accident Protection | Issue 6 Asbestos Exposure Can Cause Cancer – A Severe Health Hazard
The sixth issue of the "Health Report on Occupational Accident Protection" from the COAPRE is now live!
To better support workers affected by occupational accidents, the COAPRE has conducted field interviews and compiled this latest e-newsletter. This issue's cover story “Asbestos Exposure Can Cause Cancer – A Severe Health Hazard” highlights the significant health risks of asbestos exposure, reminding workers in related industries to prioritize their health through regular medical checkups and consistent monitoring.
In this issue, the COAPRE team visited Tung’s Taichung Metro Harbor Hospital, which leverages its unique geographical location to provide nearby health monitoring and care for workers in the offshore wind energy industry. This proximity allows the hospital to offer specialized services that safeguard the well-being of local laborers. Additionally, the Ministry of Labor, in collaboration with local governments, has stationed dedicated occupational accident service officers within local agencies. These officers play a vital role in assisting families affected by workplace injuries, helping them navigate challenges and rebuild their lives.
For more highlights, including coverage of award-winning hospitals and their outstanding contributions, download the attached PDF version of the sixth issue of the "Health Report on Occupational Accident Protection."
