Stay updated on occupational accident prevention-related information via smartphones - Official launch of the Occupational Accident Guardian app
To provide occupational accident workers with more convenient and reassuring digital services, COAPRE has developed the “Occupational Accident Guardian app”, which has been officially launched. Notably, the "Occupational Accident Guardian App" has 3 main characteristics: simple service applications, convenient access to medical information, and a context menu. If occupational accident workers require assistance, they can submit service requests through the app. The center’s dedicated personnel will provide one-on-one services and referrals, as well as subsequent case progress monitoring. The app offers 24-hour support to assist occupational accident workers to return to work as soon as possible.
After the promulgation of the Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Act last year, which expanded insurance coverage and strengthened occupational accident prevention and rehabilitation efforts, the Ministry of Labor established COAPRE to advance the national policy on occupational accident prevention and rehabilitation and integrate relevant service resources to provide more comprehensive and thoughtful services to occupational accident workers. The center has already established an official Line account to offer occupational injury and disease treatment and diagnosis and rehabilitation services, as well as the latest information on occupational safety and health training courses in a bid to significantly expand its service capabilities.
The "Occupational Accident Guardian APP", developed by COAPRE, has already been made available to the public. The APP offers a simple service application process, allowing occupational accident workers to seek assistance immediately through the app. The center’s dedicated personnel will provide occupational accident workers with one-on-one services and referrals and timely support for their families based on their needs. It also offers workers return to work assistance and can refer them to vocational training and employment services. The goal is to help them overcome their challenges as much as possible.
The center also provides integrated occupational injury and disease consultation services including timely referrals, appointments, case management services for occupational accident workers, and occupational disease reporting. The "Occupational Accident Guardian" also provides access to relevant medical resources. If individuals suspect that their injuries or diseases may be work-related, they can visit national medical institutions specializing in occupational injury and disease treatment and diagnosis and consult with occupational medicine departments. Occupational medicine physicians will determine the relationship between the injury or disease and the work environment in order to offer suitable diagnosis, treatment, and return to work advice. The public can make use of the “Occupational Accident Guardian app” to locate the nearest occupational injury and disease treatment and diagnosis medical institutions and seek assistance.
Additionally, the “Occupational Accident Guardian app” offers a context menu. In particular, workers are often concerned about whether they can return to their original employer after an occupational accident. According to COAPRE, the damage to workers’ lives, their families, and properties caused by occupational accidents is difficult to measure. The process of medical treatment and rehabilitation is a long and arduous one; to safeguard their rights, facilitate the gradual restoration of family functions, and allow them to return to stable employment, the center’s dedicated personnel offers assistance to occupational accident workers to receive medical treatment, rehabilitation consultation, and case management services. By consolidating labor rights, accident insurance benefits, return to work assistance, social welfare, and other support resources, the center can help them overcome difficulties. The center aspires to bolster diverse support for occupational accident workers through the “Occupational Accident Guardian app” and accompany them around the clock to offer them peace of mind.
