2025 Practical Guide to Occupational Accident Investigation Systems in Taiwan’s Manufacturing Industry

This guide has been compiled in response to the frequent occurrence of occupational accidents in Taiwan’s manufacturing sector in recent years. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in particular, often lack robust accident investigation and prevention mechanisms, resulting in the repeated occurrence of similar types of accidents. To assist enterprises in comprehensively understanding and consolidating domestic and international principles of accident investigation, root cause analysis methodologies, and accident prevention concepts, this guide also provides practical recommendations addressing common operational scenarios and management gaps faced by SMEs.

The contents cover accident investigation procedures (including near-miss incidents), fact-finding methods, analytical techniques, and the formulation of corrective and preventive measures. The aim is to enhance enterprises’ capabilities in identifying potential hazards and determining accident causes, thereby establishing effective preventive and corrective mechanisms. Through the application of this guide, it is expected to strengthen occupational accident prevention capacity in the manufacturing industry, reduce accident rates, and promote worker safety and sustainable industrial development.
