Although the Lunar New Year holiday has passed, the commitment to workplace safety never stops. Ahead of the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, in response to the heightened risks associated with accelerated year-end construction schedules, the Center for Occupational Accident Prevention and Rehabilitation (COAPRE), in collaboration with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Ministry of Labor and the Northern, Central, and Southern Regional Construction Industry Occupational Safety and Health Promotion Associations, organized a series of three “Year-End Lunar New Year Construction Site Occupational Accident Prevention Education and Training Campaigns” to help safeguard frontline workers on construction sites.

Bringing Safety Advocacy Directly to Construction Frontlines Across Taiwan
To ensure the outreach activities closely reflected real-world workplace conditions, the campaign series was held directly at active construction sites and local project locations across northern, central, and southern Taiwan. Construction site safety managers, frontline workers, contractors, and on-site management personnel were invited to participate together.

• Northern Region Session (January 29): Held on-site at the “Tri-Service General Hospital Multi-Story Parking Structure and Critical Care Medical Building Construction Project” in Neihu District, Taipei City.
• Southern Region Session (February 3): Conducted at the “Employee Recreation Center Adjacent to the Shanhua Sugar Factory Retail Department” in Shanhua District, Tainan City.
• Central Region Session (February 4): Held on-site at the “Taiwan Water Corporation Office Park Construction Project” in North District, Taichung City.

Focusing on High-Risk Practical Experience Sharing to Strengthen Hazard Awareness

• The training sessions focused on the high-risk characteristics of the construction industry, with professional instructors sharing extensive practical experience.
• Course content centered on two core themes: “Prevention of Falls During Work at Height” and “Spring Safety Hazard Prevention Awareness.” Through detailed explanations of occupational safety and health regulations alongside real-world case studies, participants were guided in establishing proper workplace safety concepts and practices.
• The Southern Region session also featured a special KAHOOT! quiz competition segment, incorporating fun digital interaction to help participants reinforce occupational safety knowledge in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.

Integrating Multi-Sector Resources to Build a Strong Safety Defense Network

• The Northern, Central, and Southern Taiwan campaign series also brought together professional resources from regional Occupational Safety and Health Centers under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Ministry of Labor, the Labor Inspection Offices of Taipei City Government and Taichung City Government, the Public Works Bureau of the Tainan City Government, as well as the National Construction Industry Occupational Safety and Health Promotion Association and participating project teams.
• Through cross-sector collaboration and professional guidance, the initiative aims to comprehensively enhance safety management standards across construction sites.

We sincerely thank all workers and management teams who participated in the campaign and worked together with us to safely navigate the year-end and Lunar New Year peak construction period. Occupational safety never takes a break. Moving forward, we will continue strengthening safety management at construction sites to ensure that every worker can work safely each day and return home healthy.
