Occupational Accident Rehabilitation Home to Introduce Advanced Training Equipment to Support Occupational Accident Workers Return to Work
To enhance the effectiveness of occupational rehabilitation for occupational accident workers, the Center for Occupational Accident Prevention and Rehabilitation (COAPRE) reviewed a total of 20,426 professional service applications in 2024 and discussed 3,078 individual case service records with accredited occupational rehabilitation institutions. In line with its founding commitment to providing a “one-stop service,” the upcoming Occupational Accident Rehabilitation Home is actively preparing to introduce advanced vocational assessment and training equipment tailored to the needs of specific industries. This initiative is expected to mark a major milestone in Taiwan’s occupational accident prevention and rehabilitation services.
Following an analysis of the needs of professional occupational rehabilitation institutions, the COAPRE plans to introduce specialized and high-precision equipment to address current service limitations caused by spatial and budgetary constraints. An Occupational Accident Rehabilitation Home is (tentatively) planned to be established in Kaohsiung City, with a primary focus on workers facing more complex rehabilitation challenges in returning to the workforce.Advanced training equipment to be introduced include:
Currently, preparations for the Occupational Accident Rehabilitation Home are in full swing, including the application for interior renovation permits. The facility will cover approximately 380 pings (1,256 sqm). In addition to introducing state-of-the-art equipment from abroad, COAPRE is also developing industry-specific training facilities tailored to Taiwan’s unique labor landscape. These include the Multi-Frame Work Simulation Platform, developed in collaboration with the Kaohsiung Occupational Therapists Association, designed for self-employed professionals in the electrical and plumbing industries requiring versatile renovation skills. Additionally, the Woodworking Hand Tool Functional Training Set is specifically engineered for the woodworking sector, offering targeted operational training through simulated resistance and vibration. The Rehabilitation Home is expected to officially commence rehabilitation services in the first quarter of 2025.

- PrimusRS Multi-Functional Training System: This system precisely measures movement angles and exertion forces, catering to training needs across various occupational postures.
- Ladder Training Machine: Designed for high-risk professions such as firefighters and electrical maintenance personnel, this equipment gradually trains different muscle groups required for ladder-related movements, providing effective and safe cardiopulmonary endurance and strength training.
- Anti-Gravity Treadmill: Utilizing air pressure support to reduce lower limb joint impact, this treadmill enables individuals experiencing musculoskeletal discomfort or joint pain to train without pain, effectively strengthening lower limb muscle power and cardiovascular endurance.
