Double information security certifications (ISO and MAS) ensure the security of occupational accident workers’ personal data

With the rapid developments in digital services, the risk of external data security breaches is also increasing. To guarantee the personal data security of its service targets and improve internal response capabilities, after receiving the ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) international certification in late 2023, COAPRE also obtained the "Mobile Application Basic Security" (MAS Mark) from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on January 25. This was achieved through dual security assessments conducted by an impartial third-party testing laboratory, thereby forming an excellent and secure digital service environment.

COAPRE has reported that since its establishment in April 2022, it has been actively working on setting up and implementing the ISO 27001 Information Security Management System in a bid to improve the management of internal information equipment as well as the maintenance and operation of core systems.

To safeguard the privacy of external user data and improve its ability to manage information security risks independently, the center ensures that both its internal and external operations comply with information security regulations. By enhancing security control mechanisms from managerial, procedural, and technical perspectives, the center has significantly bolstered its information security defense and control mechanisms. After receiving ISO certification from the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) at the end of last year, the center's "Occupational Accident Guardian" app, designed to help occupational accident workers, successfully obtained the "Mobile Application Basic Security (MAS Mark)" at the beginning of this year. Testing conducted by the Mobile Application Security Assessment (MASA) professional-certified laboratory demonstrated that the security measures for both Android and iOS operating systems meet information security standards.

The "Occupational Accident Guardian" app boasts a multilingual interface (Traditional Chinese, English, Thai, Indonesian, and Vietnamese) and utilizes GPS to help users quickly locate nearby occupational accident-approved medical institutions and government contacts. In addition to receiving real-time updates and information, occupational accident workers can use the system to submit service requests, receive one-on-one assistance and referrals from dedicated personnel, and continue to monitor the progress of their cases. In the "Occupational Accident Resources" section, users can check their occupational accident status and access/download relevant reading materials. This feature is designed to help the public understand their rights and benefits, so everyone is encouraged to download and use the app with peace of mind.
